A man who went for a pee on a building site had to have a metal rod removed from his bottom after falling 20ft and landing on the iron bar.

Unlucky Ajay Deora, 29, from the city of Banswara in India’s south Rajasthan state, had been on his way home after a few beers at a friend’s house when he decided to pop onto the building site to spend a penny.

But after relieving himself he slipped and plunged 20 feet to the ground, landing on the 2ft metal rod.

Passerby Shah Kohli, 30, said: «I was on my way to my girlfriend’s when I heard a man screaming.

«It sounded like a wild animal, and when I went over to see what had happened I saw this poor man in a pool of blood with an iron rod sticking out of his crotch area.

«It had clearly pierced his body from one side to the other and he was wild-eyed and clearly in shock. And so was I, I’d never seen anything so shocking.»

Damaged Deora was rushed to hospital where staff sawed the rod in half before taking an x-ray of his shattered rectum.

A hospital spokesman said: «The force with which the rod entered the man was so great it caused extensive internal damage.

«We managed to safely remove it though and he is now recovering although it will be some time before he can walk or use his bowels properly.»
